Kundalini Meditation in Melmaruvathur

Bangaru Adigalar Amma has advised devotees to sit in meditation behind the Karuvarai, the main sanctum of the Siddhar Peetam in Melmaruvathur and the Sakthi Peetams across the world.

Accordingly, devotees sit in meditation facing the back wall of the Karuvarai. On the wall is Adhiparasakthi Amma painted in the form of a rising Kundalini Snake, coiled three and a half times.

Two female devis, deities, are seen on either side of the Kundalini fanning a Chamaram which is a ceremonial fly whisk.

There are also two brightly lit lamps one on each side of Kundalini Amma.

Meditating in that place, the Shakthi from Adhiparasakthi Amma who is seen in the form of Kundalini, aids to awaken the Kundalini in our Mooladaram where the Kundalini shining brightly is in a coiled state of slumber.

“Om Kundali Vadivil Kulavinai Potri Om” is the Tamil mantra. It means “You shine brilliantly as Kundalini”.

When the Kundalini is awakened, it arises and travels through the chakras of Mooladaram, Swadhishtanam, Manipurakam, Anagadham, Visuddhi and Agnyai and reaches Sahasraram where in an effusive downpour of bliss, we can see Amma in meditation.
