Adigalar's Anointment as Guru

Mother Adiparasakthi said in an oracle, “The time has come to make My Son into a great teacher”.

Acharya anointing is the ceremony whereby one who is purified in soul is elevated to the status of Guru.

Early morning on April 14, 1979, several chakras were created and a stepped altar was made with a Rajarajeshwari sacred pot placed on a triangular step on the top.

Sacred water was brought from several sacred sites.

The 1008 mantras were chanted and 17 women conducted worship in front of 17 sacred pots.

Adigalar sat like the Murti of Adhiparasakthi as in the sanctum or karuvarai. He sat with his right leg folded resting on his left leg, showing the chin mudra gesture with his left hand and with right hand as if holding a lotus bud.

Adigalar smilingly accepted the Acharya anointing which was conducted by T.P. Meenakshi Sundaranar, a renowned scholar of Tamil and several other languages who was selected by Mother Adhiparasakthi for this task.
